Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
We want every veteran to be able to use VA Claim Mentor, including veterans who use a screen reader, magnification, captions, voice control, or a keyboard instead of a mouse. We build and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What we have done
Every video is captioned. Captions are on by default wherever captions exist, and you can turn them off.
Every session in the Guide has a full written transcript in your account.
Nothing plays by itself. No video starts, moves, or makes sound until you press play.
The whole site works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline so you can see where you are.
Text and controls meet contrast guidelines, and the site respects your device's "reduce motion" setting.
The worksheets come as Word documents you can fill in with the assistive technology you already use, and the on-screen practice worksheets use labeled form fields.
Forms explain errors in words, not by color alone.
Where we know we fall short
We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit. We test the site ourselves, and we will fix what an audit finds.
Some parts of the site are run by other companies. Checkout is hosted by Stripe, and videos play in Bunny Stream's player. We chose both in part for their accessibility, but we do not control their code. If either one gets in your way, tell us and we will help you another way.
Tell us about a barrier
If anything on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, email office@loujswz.com with the page and what happened. We will reply within 5 business days, and if we cannot fix the problem quickly, we will get you the same information in a form that works for you.
